Lee Brush grew up as the son of a college football coach, instilling a deep love for the game from an early age.
Graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Lee was no stranger to the field as he played the vital role of Strong Safety on the football team during his time there.
After his college days, Mr. Brush impacted the world of football by serving as the Secondary and Strength Coach at Wingate University in North Carolina, contributing to their NCAA DII program.
But Lee's journey didn't end there. In Arizona, he launched Life Education Through Sports (LETS), a non-profit outreach program that utilized sports as a foundation to develop young adults mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Through LETS, Mr. Brush fostered strong relationships with numerous high school football coaches in Arizona. His dedication to the sport and leadership qualities led to him being asked to serve as the first Executive Director of the Arizona Football Coaches Association (AZFCA) in January 2008. For over a decade, he coordinated coaches' training, clinics, seminars, camps, combines, and state-sponsored all-star games.
From 2014 to 2019, Lee also managed the Mayo Clinic Concussion Program, where he oversaw research programs, developed care programs for the NFLPA, and played a crucial role in launching the Mayo Clinic Concussion Check – a three-minute sideline evaluation to determine whether a player should be removed from play after a potential head injury.
Last year, Lee's expertise shone through as he served as the Head Coach of the Firebirds Mixed 12U-13U Developmental Football Program.
And now, we are privileged to have Coach Lee Brush leading our War Dogs this season! His experience, dedication, and passion for the game are unparalleled, and we can't wait to see what incredible feats our team will achieve under his guidance.
